Your privacy is extremely important to me. The relationship between a client and therapist is protected by law, and your personal information will never be shared without your written consent.

There are, however, a few exceptions where I am legally required to break confidentiality in order to ensure safety:

If I suspect child abuse, or abuse of a dependent adult or elder, I am mandated by law to report it to the appropriate authorities.

If you express a serious threat of harm to another person, I must notify law enforcement and take reasonable steps to inform the intended victim.

If you are at risk of harming yourself, I will do my best to work with you to create a plan for your safety. If necessary, and if you are unwilling or unable to stay safe, I may take further steps permitted by law to protect your well-being.
